1. What data we collect and why

• Account sign-up: when you register or create an account, we collect your username and a password. We use this solely to manage your account and provide you with the service. The lawful basis for this is fulfilling our service agreement with you. Your password is stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form that cannot be turned back into the password.
• Player names: you can play without an account. The name you enter when you create or join a game is saved with that game and shown to the other players, and in its replays. We use it only to run the game (fulfilling our service agreement with you).
• Cookies: we set a session cookie, which lets the site recognise you when you come back to a game or stay logged in, and a security cookie that protects forms from forgery. Both are needed for the site to work. We use no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies.
• Website logs: when you visit our website, our server automatically records standard technical information, including your IP address, browser type, and access timestamps. We use this data strictly for site security, preventing abuse, and technical troubleshooting (legitimate interests).

2. How long we keep your data

• Your username is kept indefinitely, as it is required to appear on historic game replays. The same goes for the names entered in games.
• Cookies stay in your browser until they expire or you clear them.
• Server logs containing IP addresses are deleted at regular intervals.
